Creative Juices

Expression was back in full force last night after a much needed break.  It was explosive.  Mayorga Coffee Factory was packed out again.  All of the poets, performers, and painters were amazing.  It is a confirmation of something Andy Stanley said.  Sometimes, we think taking breaks kill momentum. In actuality, breaks are momentum builders. Building healthy work rest rhythms is crucial for a team.  Everyone needs a time to pull back, including the attendees.  Today, I get to brainstorm with our creative team.  We are going to plan out our upcoming series from now until summer of 2009.  This will be our second mega meeting. Can’t wait to see what comes out of it!  Pastors, if you haven’t tried it, I’m telling you!  It is worth it.  It may seem crazy planning so far out in advance, but it pays off big time.  It does take seeking God’s face about future preaching direction.  The same God that can give you a word for next week is the same God that can give you a word for next year.  All you have to do is ask Him.  Plan, but still be flexible.  In addition, your team will love the fact that they don’t have to try and pull off something creative at last minute.  They will love you and you’ll get to be there rock star. 🙂
