Dafnette and I just came back from getting our $1.50 cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. They are celebrating their 30th anniversary today. The restaurant was jam packed upon our arrival. Cheesecake Factory cheesecake for $1.50? What else do you expect!

We are getting ready to do our next community wide event since Eggsville. It’s going to be called Expression Live. It will be an expanded, outdoor version of what we do every Fourth Friday. This time, we are taking it to the community at large. It will take place on Saturday, August 23 from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. There will be live bands, poets, rappers, singers, and painters. We are also giving away free popcorn, cotton candy, and some other goodies. We also decided to throw in a few children activities for good measure. Can’t wait to see what God does!
I’m working on finishing my messages earlier on in the week. I did last week and it made a big difference! That means, I have to save some of my admin stuff for later on in the week. It felt a bit awkward working on non-message stuff on Friday, but it was a breather to have it out the way and enjoy my Saturday. For the past few weeks, my Saturdays have been eaten up by final “touch ups,” which usually lasts all day. Since the message is floating around my brain much earlier, God has the room to give me more insights and creative ideas. Today is Tuesday and I’ve done most of my research. Yeah, God!
I haven’t done one of these in awhile, but here goes. Keith Battle, Senior Pastor of Zion Church, dropped in and paid us a surprise visit on Sunday. It was his first time being at The Bridge. It was so great to see him. Keith is my mentor and I still consider him my pastor. He’s such an encourager and, as usual, is already challenging me to begin thinking about the next level. We had a few sound issues with our movie clips, but everything else was great. We had a HUGE number of first time guest. We had about twenty first time guests this week! That’s the most we’ve ever had. Amazing! Afterwards, I attended a meeting with our Expression team. They are planning an outdoor concert called Expression Live which will take place in downtown Silver Spring on Saturday, August 23rd. Sounds like it’s going to be amazing. I’ll keep you guys posted.
7:22 in Atlanta made a bold move recently. It makes me wonder how many of us have to make the same decisions as it pertains to our various ministries, churches, organizations, etc.
I’m attempting to do some serious organizing. I decided to begin with my computer. First up, my desktop. For some reason, my desktop ends up getting cluttered with stuff. I’ve cleaned it up and it now looks like a brand new computer. Reminds me of a clean house. Now I’m filing and refiling everything else.
